User-submitted image - Click to see real sizeI am struggling to find the words to express my deep gratitude for your generosity. When I read the e-mail informing me that you had met our need, tears filled my eyes. Tears are flowing down my face as I type this. It's such a helpless feeling for a parent to have a child with a medical need that they don't have the financial means to meet. I am so sincerely grateful to each and every one of you for helping my family in this time of need. I praise God for you and pray that He will bless you abundantly. Thank you! Thank you!! Thank you!!!

Thank you so much for funding my application for help with my physical therapy bill. I've been so worried about how I was going to pay this bill, and when I heard about modest needs I was wasn't sure it was for real. I have been touched that people who I don't even know are willingly to help me with an unexpected bill. I have been so upset with the way my insurance company has handled this, and other instances in the last year, that I had become quite bitter. This has really helped restore my faith in the goodness of the majority of people. Thank you again for voting to help me. I hope that in the future some day I will be able to afford to do the same for someone else.

Thank you so much for your helping me get my medical supplies. Your help is, quite literally, a lifesaver. I consider it a blessing that folks like you are among us. I've be reading my Dante, and in the 'Paradiso' he tells us of the three theological virtues: 'Faith' being knowledge beyond wisdom, 'Hope' is the motive of fortitude, but above all is 'Charity', the love that transcends all. Everyone at one time or another is either in need of, or in a position to provide, charity. I thank you for your great generosity and giving of yourselves. I only hope that in time I will be able to pass along this service you've done for me.

I appreciate everything that everyone has done or given up to help my family. You have no idea how much it has impacted our lives. We don't have to worry about freezing or finding a way to get the oven hot to eat. I'm so glad that even in this time and day, people still know how to find a way to surprise people with extreme kindness and love. Our lives are in debt to everyone who helped. You guys arew saviors, our angels! God Bless You!! Kristina

I would like to start by thanking every body who donated to help me and my family. This is a true blessing for us. My faith has really been tested in the past year, finding out my father has cancer, and the toll it has taking on my family. Then my finacial situation adding to it, has put me under a great deal of stress. Checking my e-mails every day thinking time is running out , it's getting close to the dead line. Thinking people just don't have it to help these days it's hard times for alot of people. But I was proven wrong, people do care. When I read the e-mail tonite I began to cry, my finace asked me what was wrong when I told him they helped us . His only words were thank you LORD for sending these angels to us in our time of need. Your help means so much to me and my family. It gives us hope. I have never had to ask for help before, it was so hard for me, I felt ashamed. But you have showed me that people won't judge me and it's ok to ask for help, just like it's ok to help.I would like to finish by saying god will bless you for all you have done. I plan on becomimg a donor my self, because I want to make someone feel the warmth, joy and hope you have made me feel. Thank you again and god bless everyone of you. Penny

I am sending a heartfelt thank you to each of you for extending help to us during our time of hardship. This has helped tremendously during my time of layoff from my job of eight years. Without help from such caring people, we could possibly be without our home. Thank you so much. May God bless you all. Forever Grateful

As I begin to type this I am trying to find the right words that can express the gratitude I am feeling at this very moment. I want to thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart. Your contribution lifts a huge weight off of my shoulders. The kindness that I have been shown by complete strangers is nothing short of amazing. Once things return back to normal I plan on helping as many people as I can through this organization. Thank you again :)

Thank you for you kindness during my long and difficult illness. My family and friends are also grateful that I was able to stay at home with help and get better. My next work is to get out of bed and transfer to my wheelchair. Thank you for adding to my hope and faith.

User-submitted image - Click to see real sizeExactly two months ago when I submitted my application for rent assistance, I wrote my submission with the pretense that somebody better help me because I deserved it due to all the trials and tribulations I had faced with my recent firing and child support case. Fast forward to today, when I rushed to the computer (just as I do every morning at 6:30am) to check the status of my grant with Modest Needs and learned I was approved! When I saw that my submission had been granted...I had to reread it. I thought, am I dreaming? Then instantly, the tears started to fall. I know that there is more than one person who made this possible for me and my daughter. And I also know that the donations are anonymous, but I really wish I could meet you all personally to hug you. Then I thought, 'I wonder if I passed you at the grocery store or perhaps at the gas station, or better yet at church?' For those that have helped my daughter and I, please know this...This process has really made me grow up and realize that there is more to life than material things - even a roof over our head. I prayed EVERY day that this grant would get approved and that things really would get better for her and I. But in the process, I have learned so much about myself. I vowed that if this was fulfilled, she and I would start a daily gratitude journal (she is 5 1/2). So my first entry (today) will be dedicated to all of you who made a difference in our financial state. Each tear that flows down my face as I write this thank you letter represents each of you. I also want to let you all know that it is my turn to give back. I will also 'pay it forward' and help another in need. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for helping us financially, but more than that, for helping us become better and stronger people. And to the team of people at Modest Needs, thank you for the daily updates and for supporting this organization. I have told two other struggling moms about this and will pray they receive the same success that I have. Through prayer and belief, anything can be accomplished. My prayer for today is this: Father, help me to see as much good as I can in every person and in every situation. Rather than seeing the glass half empty, let me see it as half full. I choose to have an outlook on life. Filled with warmest gratitude, T & K

Thank you so much for your help. I've always seen the good in people but as I have lived and experienced some of the things that the world has to offer I began to loose hope. Hard times have come and gone and it has impacted my faith, the faith I have for a higher being and in people. You helped me and you don't even know my name. I thank you so much, you've given me more than help with my rent but you've restored me faith. Thank you! You've done more for me than you'll ever know.

Dear Donors - I am extremely grateful for your support of my request for medical help. The existence of Modest Needs and their donors is a miracle in my life. I have tried many other doctors and specialists; Dr. Fitzpatrick is, I believe, the only one to be able to help me. I have searched my town, my state, and the country for resources to help me with this and come up with nothing until Modest Needs. What an amazing resource for those in need! The funding for my home computer business is finally beginning to come through. I have been afraid I would be too sick to be able to do the professional training and work. This grant has been funded just in time to make it possible for me to proceed on my path to become financially independent and a successful professional. With gratitude and best wishes

WOW, I am so greatful for this gift of help. It is encouraging to know that there are still good people out there who care about others. The modest needs donors are awesome. Keep up the good work. I hope I can help someone in the future thru this organization like I was helped. I can't thank you enough. God bless you!

I don't even know where to begin with thanking you! I am so grateful to you that words cannot even express the happiness that I am feeling right now! I along with my son had almost lost all faith in humans. You have shown us that there really are people that will help others who are down on their luck. I never dreamed that my request would actually be completed especailly so fast. You do not realize how much this means to me and my child! I cannot thank you enough for your kindness and caring. When I eventually get back on my feet financially, I am going to donate to help someone else. God bless you and please remember that you have made a difference in my and my son's life!! Thank you so much!

Dear Modest Needs Donors, Thank you so much for your generosity!! I was really at the point of feeling like giving up-we just didn't see much hope on the horizon regarding going into an endless cycle of poverty. But because of your kindness, the list of benefits is huge: my 11-yr old son will be able to study, sleep, and live comfortably, we are able to continue working at our jobs since we have shelter. Instead of incurring bad credit due to a broken lease, we are able to focus our energies toward paying our other bills this month and saving for rent for next month.Perhaps most importantly, I have newfound gratitude and renewed faith in our Creator and mankind because of these answered prayers. I hope to become a Modest Needs Donor myself someday! Thank you again, from the bottom of our hearts! May you and yours be blessed in every endeavor!! Sincerely, B W

I got the notice today (3/6) that my need was funded. I am sitting here in tears right now - When I was about to give up hope... I start work on 3/8, and recieve my last unemployment check on the same day! I was not sure how we were going to go about getting 2 people to work in different places - at different times. Now I do not have to fret. I great big HUGE THANK YOU!! :) Once we get back on our feet - We will be returning the gift by doing the same that you wonerful folks have done for us. May God Bless and keep you. THANK YOU!!!

I would like to take this moment to thank you so much, on behalf of my family and I, for taking the time, effort and your financial resources to share with and help us during a difficult transitional period. While I would rather have been giving not receiving, this important experience has taught me several lessons that I would like to share with you: 1. Irrespective of how well prepared you are to weather and buffer them, challenges like these can always come to anyone, anywhere, and at any time. They come to make you - and others - stronger, better and wiser; challenges being the substance that creates human strength, goodness and wisdom! 2. When they come, they come at a specific season and for a specific reason - that God has appointed - to prepare and equip you (and the others he has appointed to be by your side as you climb your mountain...to pool together the collective human strength, goodness and wisdom necessary to surmount your challenge) for your important destiny and purpose on Earth. 3. The amazing thing is that you - and those who collectively pool together with you to climb your mountain - grow and become stronger, better and wiser in the process! When human beings collectively pool together their strength, goodness and wisdom in any situation, no mountain or challenge - no matter how big - is insurmountable! As such, I thank you for being one of those special human beings that God appointed for this specific reason and season in my life, to pool with me to surmount my challenge and climb my mountain. You have become stronger, better and wiser - with me, in spirit - in so doing! May God Bless you and yours for sharing your resources with my family during this important time in our - and your - destiny and purpose, and may the basket from which you shared with us never go empty! Ditto my sweet angel J.J.E. at Modest Needs who has been kind, sweet and most helpful...like the drops of water that make up an oasis in the desert...becoming the catalyst that facilitated your destiny, hers and mine being meshed together at a special human moment designed to make us all grow and advance in our destiny and purpose, so that we all became stronger, better and wiser! Thank you!

User-submitted image - Click to see real sizeToday I received notice from Modest Needs that I was fully funded. I was so elated, I burst out in tears. Even grown men cry. With major earth quakes in Haiti and Chile my faith in people to give donations from their heart to help me get my car repaired is beyond words. This repair means I can drive to interviews and job openings without burdening someone for a ride. It also comes at a time when my unemployment insurance is about to run out, so again, I 'thank' all the donors who felt my application was worthy of their donations to help me be mobile again. As soon as I'm gainfully employed, I avow to read applicants in need of help and promise to become a regular donor. God Bless Modest Needs for their assistance and God Bless all the donors who came to my aid. Sincerely, Dan
