When I applied for help, it was a crucial time for me. I was at a crossroad where I thought that no one cared. I have been proven wrong. When I applied I thought it would take months, but to my amazement, it only took a little over two weeks. I have always been a firm believer in giving back to others. This grant fills my spirit with gratitude for the employees of Loews Hotels that made the grant possible and also to the hundreds, if not thousands of donors that give to help others, one person at a time. This inspires me to give as much as I can give, as often as I can. For a little does make a big difference. Thank you 'modest needs' and Loews Hotel employees that didn't think twice to help someone in trouble.

I would just like to say thank you all for helping us. I did not know where to go when this emergency presented itself and was almost forced to choose between housing or my daughter's medical needs. You have definitely helped a young girl to continue to feel good and not be in pain when she should be concentrating on school and being a teenager. Thank you again.

I am sitting here crying tears of joy. Just this morning I had no points and now I have recieved a wonderful gift! I have been sitting here trying to figure out what to say in my testimonial, but all I can think of is 'Thank You.' Thank you to Modest Needs, thank you to those who donated, thank you to all who wished they could help but were unable to during this time of economic crisis for so many in our country. To those of you just exploring this site...maybe you are sitting at home trying to figure out how to keep the electric on while also feeding your family please keep your head up and know that there are kind and generous people out there who can help. To those of you who opened your heart to my family and helped us in our time of need I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I look foward to getting back on our feet so that we can pay this foward. Modest Needs is a wondeful organization, Angels on the internet. The donors are amazing people, organizations, and companies and without all of you this would not be possible. So again Thank you from the bottom of my heart. My family thanks you, and my children thank you for giving our family a ray of hope during this difficult time.

OMG! OMG! OMG! That is what I thought when I learned that my request had been funded. It was hard to believe that I have received a grant. I read and re-read until it finally sunk in. Words can not express how grateful I am. This help could not have come at a better time and I am so very grateful. I really need assistance and the wonderful people on this site made it possible! It is like a weight has lifted off my shoulders. Thank you so much for funding my application. People like the ones on this site are one in a million! It's like the saying 'To the world you are just one person, but to one person you are the world' That is how I feel! Everyone no matter how small the contribution has made a huge difference! THANK YOU!

Not much makes me tear up, but here I am, weepy & amazed. Words cannot express how happy, relieved & grateful I am that Modest Needs has funded my request via this generous grant. Thank you so very much for this much-needed help. It couldn't have come at a better time. I've been lying awake nights, rebudgeting yet again & trying to juggle the bills while keeping a roof over my children's heads. Worrying about a repo man coming to the door to take my only car had me completely stressed out & this blessing from you generous souls is a lifesaver. I cannot do my job without a car & without my (sole source of) income, everything stable in my children's lives would be destroyed &/or taken away. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. It lifts my soul, seeing proof that there are still good, altruistic people in the world.

Thank you so much for approving a grant for our 17 year old disabled son who has to have a van modified with a zero effort stiring wheel so he is able to get his drivers licence. Due to the lack of public transportation he would not be able to get a job without a car. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping our son to become independent. God Bless you

Wow. I am blown away by the kindness and generosity of people. I thank you so much! Raising a growing child is tough, especially as a single mom... I just found out he also needs glasses now and our next specialist will be the podiatrist, apparently he might have flat feet. The bills keep coming in and on a limited budget it is hard to make these one time purchases happen, especially when it is for so much money. Because of the kindness of strangers my son will be able to have a straight beautiful smile, hopefully by this time next year! (Just in time for him to like girls right?) Thank you so very very much for helping us!

Thanks so much to everyone who helped my family in this very trying time. I never knew I had double pneumonia till it hit me and put me in ICU. We are very grateful and pray that one day we will be in a position that we can return the favor to someone who needs help like we did. Thanks again and God bless!!

THANKS, TO ALL OF THE DONORS!!! My son and I would like to say 'THANK YOU', to all of the people who gave to our cause; my prayer is that whatever you are in need of, that God will meet that need. Donors, your generosity will never be forgotten, you have helped me to get back on track in paying my bill. April 08 was a month to remember; two unexpected occurrence took place; Bee's penetrated one wall in my garage thereafter I was told by a beekeeper that the entire sheetrock will have to be open to remove the extra large colony of bees, honey, all comb and eggs. Approximately three weeks later, my son had to have 3 teeth extracted. I had no family member or friend to turn to. The deposit made to remove the bees and the money used to have my son teeth pulled was to be set aside to pay a monthly expense. Thanks to the modest need donors, I am now able to pay this monthly bill. Thanks again, donors for your help. God said, ask and you shall receive; I'm glad I asked in faith. You can count on me in the near future to become a donor. Amazed by HIS Grace, Michele and Justin B.

On behalf of myself and my daughter we would like to thank all who have reached out to us in our time of need! I really had no one else to turn too, and my daughter desperately needed my help. We had not seen each other in over 5 years when I came here. I just wanted to tell you all the story of the day I found out about Modest Needs, I was watching a local new forecast at noon, moments later I found my daughter at her home unconscious from an accidental overdose which was complicated by pneaumonia. strep throat and the flu. She had a very high fever and was within moments of death. The good news is that she has now completed a medical rehabilitation program and now is awaiting ongoing psychiatric care. I would have had to return home already had it not been for the generosity of all who helped us. I believe that thanks to you my daughter will have a better life and the care she needs! Please be aware of the signs of mental health problems in those you love as this can touch any of us, also can go hand-in-hand with drug abuse!! We have hope now....ty ms.Cook&Jenn
