Here, on the Modest Needs 'Testimonials' page, we ask all Modest Needs grant recipients to post a short note describing the impact your giving has had on their lives, on the lives of their families, or, in the case of non-profits, on the lives of the people they serve.
We maintain this page so that visitors to Modest Needs can see for themselves what Modest Needs' active members already know:
Pocket change used wisely has the power to change real lives.
We do not edit these testimonials. We think they speak for themselves.

Wow, what can I say? I was beginning to think time would run out before I was able to get the assistance I needed. Yet, here I am posting a testimonial. Thank you so very much for your help in getting a lift chair to make my life a bit easier. The importance of gaining the sort of independence that getting in and out of a chair can give to somebody like myself is indescribable. I can only tell those people out there waiting for funding to not give up hope. I was looking at needing over 1100 points for quite some time, after having started out needing 1340. I thought it would not happen. But, today I look and there it is. All of my points have been gained and I will be receiving a check shortly for my new chair. I just can't wait. God Bless You One and All for your help. I will never forget what has been done for me. You can be assured that I will be checking this website frequently to see where help is needed and what I can do. The love and kindness I am about to receive is more than I have felt from any agency in the past. I have been hitting blank walls for some time now, but with your help, those walls have come down. Once more, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Mere words would never be capable of fully expressing the amount of gratitude that I have toward each and everyone of you who invested into my life. As a single parent on one income I just did not see how I would have accomplished such and unexpected expense. My prayer is that God will return the seeds that you have sown into my life. Thank you so much for blessing me at a time that I really needed it.

First of all, I want to sincerely thank modest needs and the people who funded me... I am sooo appriciative that someone else is concerned. I have been struggling most of my life. Nothing really that I did to make these difficult situations happen. they just have been happening. for example getting a good job and losing it because needing more hours, as a single mother. Finally finding a place to live for me and my son, but having to move out because we can't afford it. I'm in the process of continuing my education, and praying that people will volunteer to help watch my son, so that i can go to school part time. Most of all I believe God can make a way when there seems to be no way! Thank you modest needs...

Thank you so much for your donation! I'm a single mother struggling everyday living pay check to pay check. If you did not help with me with my water bill the apt I live in would not except my rent until water bill was paid in full and they would charge me a late fee of $75 dollars per day. If it was not for your kindness we probably would of been evicted from my apt. Thanks to all of you for helping me and my little girl.

A grateful heart has a place in everything I do, and I take this time to say, Thank you very much to the donors who have helped me take care of my health. The orthotics made possible by this grant will help in the management of neuropathy in my feet. Usually a condition for diabetics, neuropathy occurs in cancer patients following chemotherapy. I am cancer-free and doing all I know to keep it that way.

We thank God for the generosity of those contributors who assisted us. We have come to a great understanding of what it means to be a pay check away from being homeless. We also have found a way to help others with the little amounts that we are able to contribute now. You have to be a philantropist to help others with everyday needs. The thought of helping others with what some consider pocket change, can really make a big difference in someone's life. It certainly has in our case. Thank You

I would like to thank everyone who made a donation from the bottom of my heart. My family would like to thank you also. This means so much to us and shows us that generousity still exists in the world. A great deal has been lifted off our shoulders and it would not have been possible without ModestNeeds. I look forward to the day I can make a donation and help a family in their time of needs. Thank you again and God bless!!!
