Host an eBay Auction to Benefit Modest Needs
Why not turn that stuff you no longer need into a gift that will keep a family working? If you have an eBay account and know how to use it, you can sell that rug, quilt, or old DVD to benefit working families at Modest Needs.
Modest Needs is registered with Missionfish, the charitable arm of eBay. To sell on Modest Needs' behalf, just go to Missionfish and use your eBay account to initiate the auction. Select Modest Needs as the beneficiary of your auction and pledge to give some or all of your auction proceeds to Modest Needs.
Once your auction completes and you receive payment, Missionfish will forward the appropriate portion of your auction proceeds to Modest Needs - you don't have to do anything but ship your item.
Plus, historically, eBay auctioneers that pledge to give at least a portion of their proceeds to charities earn more for their auctions than those who don't.
