I Was Hospitalized for Weeks With Severe Preclampsia & Now I Can't Afford to Fix My Car!

My Story:

I am a single mom with 2 daughters. My oldest daughter is 10 years old; she's going to middle school this year. She likes soccer, dance, and music. My 4-month-old baby girl was born 2 months early, but she is so determined and joyful. I work as an assistant property manager and unusually can cover our needs, but I recently experienced several unforeseen setbacks that are making it extremely difficult to do so.

In January, I was admitted to the hospital and diagnosed with severe preeclampsia. I was told that if I didn't deliver, I was at risk of dying or having my major organs fail. I ended up having an emergency C-section two nights later. My complications continued after my delivery; my oxygen continued to drop, I developed fluid around my heart and lungs, my blood pressure wasn't stable, and I went into heart failure. I had given birth and wasn't even able to hold my baby until 7 days later. She was in the NICU while I was receiving around the clock care. During this 3-week ordeal, I continued to work remotely as much as I could, but my finances still took a hit, as I had to figure out childcare for my daughter while I was hospitalized. Once I arrived home with my baby, all of the little expenses for her really piled up, especially after getting care for my 10-year-old the month prior.

I am asking for assistance with my car repairs. My brakes are dragging, my car is squeaking, and I just need to be able to get back and forth for me and my kids. I am working on my certification in Human Resources, so I can hopefully bring in some more money in the future. I also have my real estate license; it's just hard to get out there right now since I can't afford licensing and commission fees right now. I truly am trying, and any assistance would be greatly appreciated. This act of kindness will keep my kids and I safe while on the road, and I cannot thank you enough.
