I'm a Math Teacher & After My Car Broke Down Twice & My Dog Needed Surgery, We'll Be Homeless!
My Story:
I am a single high school math teacher, adjunct mathematics professor, and mathematics tutor. I live with my cat, Fiari, and my dog, Kiera. Kiera and I love working out together! I have always worked hard and saved money to make sure I would not be in this situation, but one situation after another in a short period of time has left me in a tough situation.
When I was in high school, I bought a brand new car to make sure it would last a long time, and I had it for 7 years before I was rear-ended. My car was repaired, but a short time later, the front wheel just fell off in the middle of the road while I was driving and caused me to swerve off the road, damaging the car even further. My car insurance company said it would be too hard to prove that the rear-end accident caused front-end damage, so I was left to buy a new car without the help of insurance. After that large expense, I was managing okay, but then I found out Kiera needed surgery. She had her teeth cleaned a year ago, and they found certain lesions (they are not sure what causes them, and therefore, it cannot be prevented) that demanded the attention of a specialist. I went to the specialist, and they had to remove 22 of her teeth. The surgery was nearly five grand. I have pet insurance, but they only cover a thousand for dental. This wiped out any savings I had and left me in a situation I never thought I would be in.
I am humbly requesting help with my rent because I will be evicted without it. After the large expenses all at once, I'm one rent payment away from homelessness. This one-time payment will help me stay afloat and build myself back up again, so I can ensure that if an emergency occurs again, I will not end up homeless. It is tough being on my own; my dog like family to me, and she really needed this surgery. I can only hope now that the three of us aren't put out because of it. Thank you for everything.
