My Baby Has Been Hospitalized for Months. He's Getting Heart Surgery & Won't Have a Home to Heal In!

My Story:

I am a single mom of two boys. One of my sons is, sadly, critically ill and hospitalized. My oldest son loves playing sports. I work in a university's dental office as a dental access representative and love seeing my patients smile!

My baby became sick two months ago, and we have been in the hospital ever since. We basically live there now. After a month in the hospital, they finally decided to discharge us, and two weeks later, my son became completely unresponsive at home. This landed us right back where we were before. I never imagined my son would go through something this traumatic so early in life. He is awaiting an open-heart surgery date and is such a strong boy already. I know my son can get through this, but this emergency has put me in a huge financial bind. I have had to miss more work than I ever thought I would, to be honest. I would pick staying with my son in the hospital any day, but it has us in a scary predicament that I do not want either of my sons to worry about.

I am really hoping Modest Needs would be so generous as to assist me just this once with my rent payment. We have never asked for help before, but now is the only time I have ever been so terrified of having nowhere to go. I have already received a 14-day notice, so every day that goes by feels like a countdown until we are put out. Your help will not only save my family's home, but it will also keep us current going forward and ensure my son has a safe place to recover in after heart surgery. I will be able to return to working my normal hours after his surgery and keep us afloat from there. I will never forget this act of kindness. Thank you.
