We Just Found Out Before Our Wedding My Husband Has Inoperable Stage 4 Cancer. We'll Lose Our Home!

My Story:

My husband, Chris, and I got married on the 1st of March this year. We take care of my son's three children while he is finishing his prison sentence. I work full-time and stay on top of bills, but my husband's diagnosis has changed everything.

Two days before the wedding, he was diagnosed with inoperable stage 4 liver cancer, and it has spread to his spine. As you can imagine, we are absolutely devastated, as we imagined living out the rest of our days together. I've had to miss work to care for him and take him to all his appointments. I've used up all my PTO, so now my checks are less whenever I need to take off. I feel stretched to my limit caring for my family alone, but I'm hopeful I can make it through this. I'm currently one month behind on my mortgage payment and struggling to stay afloat. Between my husband's medical bills, losing hours at work, and caring for my grandkids, we're just hoping we can save our house. Chris was denied SSI because our income is slightly over the threshold, so we are on our own through this battle with cancer.

This one-time help with our mortgage would give us the relief we so desperately need right now. I was granted advanced annual leave at my job, so that will help when I must miss work for his appointments. It would be a dream come true to just get back on track with bills and not have to stress about losing my home. I can then concentrate on taking care of my family wholeheartedly.
