I'm a Dad in the Military & Had to Repair My Car to Get to Work. I Can't Pay My Car Note Now!

My Story:

I am a married father of two wonderful children. My 6-year-old daughter is very energetic and loves drawing, ballet, and soccer. My 3-year-old son is a dinosaur and sea animal enthusiast. Both kids love walking, biking, and running around our neighborhood. I am an active-duty military service member, and my wife is an amazing stay-at-home mom. We earn enough to pay for our basic expenses every month, but we tend to live paycheck to paycheck due to the cost of living around Tampa.

We had no savings set aside when our family vehicle suddenly broke down without warning a month ago. I work an hour away from our house because the cost of rent near the base is too expensive, and the car is my only form of transportation there. Without it, we would not be able to take the kids to school or go on errands, and our income would be nonexistent. We had to repair it. I paid for a new fuel pump and oil pan, and the costs have put us in a real bind.

The repairs put us in a position now where we are unable to pay our car note, so the car may end up getting repossessed after we invested so much into it. We are hoping Modest Needs can help pay for our car payment, which is one month late. We are stuck choosing between our car payment or utilities, and we simply need power to keep our kids fed. This assistance will get us back on track with all our bills and save our car for good. My wife is starting to look for work which will give us a chance to prepare ourselves for something like this happening again.
