I Was Just Honorably Discharged From the Air Force. I'll Lose My Home Before Getting My Benefits!

My Story:

I was in the Air Force for 16 years and just got honorably discharged in February. I am trying to get my DD 214, so I can apply for VA benefits, and until then, I have been applying for jobs every day.

I am needing to get assistance with my rent while I go through the steps of obtaining my VA benefits, as I am afraid I could face eviction. I did not think it would be as hard as it is to get a job while I await my benefits, but now that I am not working for the military, I am not getting paid. I'm trying to do everything in my power to ensure that I avoid eviction, but it is looking like I will come up short.

I am asking for this one-time help with my rent, so I do not end up homeless before I can get my government assistance. This help will hold me over until my benefits kick in and allow me to flourish in my rehabilitation into citizen life. Thank you.
