I Was on Bed Rest for 2 Months During My Pregnancy & Lost Work. Now, We'll Lose Our Car!

My Story:

I live with my husband, and we have a new baby boy who is 3 months old. He was born prematurely but is a very happy boy. We both work part-time since we can't afford daycare; my husband works with students with disabilities, and I work in wellness. I had a small business that, unfortunately, is no longer in good standing after going through my pregnancy.

Right around the holidays, I was emitted to the hospital for PPROM (Premature Rupture of Membrane) and was put on bedrest for over two months. I have an autoimmune disease and could not work during this time, so our financial situation began to decline. My doctors were concerned about the risk of infection, as there was little to no amniotic fluid around the baby, so it really was a necessity for me to remain in the hospital. However, this abrupt crisis left me unable to support my family, let alone grow my small business. It has had a ripple effect on many of our bills. My car is at-risk of repossession, and our cell phones, car insurance, and renters' insurance all face disconnection. Not to mention, I have been suffering with post-partum depression, and that has really taken a toll on my physical health. We have had to pawn meaningful items like our wedding rings to help pay for the rent, and that still barely made a dent. We avoided court once, but I do not think we will be able to do it again. I'm desperately trying to keep my family afloat, but my health has made it impossible.

I am humbly requesting help with our phone bill and car note, so we can focus on paying our rent. This one-time assistance will ensure we can stay connected to one another and that everyone stays safe. We will be able to get to our son's appointments and care for me as I navigate post-partum depression. We will be able to save our home without losing everything else in our life, and I cannot thank you enough. Thank you so much for thinking of our family and giving what you can.
