I'm Treating My Cancer & Repairing the Home My Mom Left to Me. I Can't Replace My Hot Water Heater!
My Story:
I am a single female, and sadly, I have no family left. I do have a Dalmatian dog named Pepper that I love very much! I am a graphic designer and love what I do. I have artwork that I sell online, and I also make jewelry. My mom passed away in January of 2023 and left me with this house; it has been a lot to take care of because it is so old. I live paycheck to paycheck, and since going through breast cancer a couple years ago, I have been unable to work full-time.
The fact that I cannot work full-time makes it so that I also cannot afford any unforeseen bills. I am still going through rigorous bone treatments for my cancer, and they are quite expensive. I've additionally had to repair the heater and a/c, which was costly. I have no savings, so my medical bills have been impossible to keep paid. My car note and utility bills are past due, and right as I was about to pay them, my hot water heater went out. I had three different companies come out to give me an estimate, and I chose the most affordable option. All three have said that it cannot be repaired, only replaced, and that is something I just will never be able to afford.
I am asking for this help replacing the hot water heater in my home, so I can shower, cook, and care for my health. This assistance will get me through the hump of taking over my mother's home, and I will be caught up with my bills again. I risk falling into something inescapable if I pay this bill, and I can't risk putting my dog and I in that situation. With my immune system being compromised, I must get it fixed or I risk my life. My fear is getting sick and then ending up hospitalized for an extended period. Aside from my health, it is just very difficult to take a shower in cold water, so this assistance will really restore my quality of life. I will be able to work full-time soon and catch up on the other bills going forward. As much as I hate applying for help, I know I cannot make it this time without asking.
