My Son Was Sick so Often That I Missed Work for Weeks at a Time. We'll Be Homeless!

My Story:

My spouse and I have been together for 12 years, and we have 3 amazing kids. My stepdaughter is 12 years old and loves playing basketball. We have a 7-year-old son and a 4-year-old daughter together; my daughter is full of sass, and my son is very smart. Their dad works full-time from home for United Health Group, and I work part-time in hospitality.

Since December/January, my son has constantly been sick. He has a very weak immune system, and it has caused him to miss a lot of school. Similarly, I have missed so much work that it is near impossible to stay afloat. I would normally work 32 hours a week, but since he is always sick, I have missed a full week of work for several months. I have used all of my sick hours, and my husband used all his PTO time too. Once my son feels better, me or my daughter gets sick, and so we just never get a break. My landlord is truly amazing and has been accepting partial payments whenever we get paid, but I am worried we will lose our home soon.

I am asking for this one-time help with our rent, so we can get current again. My son has not been sick at all this past month since his doctors prescribed a new medication, so I have returned to full hours, and everything will be getting better soon. We are unable to do anything for the kids' birthdays this month because we are just trying to provide their bare necessities. With your help, I can not only keep a roof over our heads, I can get them something small for their birthdays. I will be able to care for my son's health without constantly worrying about bills, and I would be so grateful for just that. Thank you so much.
