I'm a Grandma With Diabetes & Had an Emergency Toe Amputation. I Took FMLA, & Now I'll Be Homeless!

My Story:

I am single woman and grandmom of 7 that has dedicated my entire life to helping others. I live alone with my dog and cat, and I work as a nurse's assistant.

I have lived in the same house for 12 years and have always been able to maintain my bills. However, last month, I ended up with an infection in my toe. There was a complication associated with my diabetes, and sadly, I had to have an emergency amputation of the toe. I had to take FMLA from work having no money saved. I'm waiting on a decision if I will receive short-term disability benefits, but in the meantime, I need to keep my head above water.

I am asking for assistance with two months of my rent. Your help will keep me from ending up homeless before I return to work. This act of kindness will allow me to care for myself in my home and concentrate on my health. Thank you so much for considering my situation.
