I'm a Petsitter & Had 3 Different Cars Break Down in the Past Year. My Son & I Will Be Homeless!

My Story:

Hi! It is just my son and I, but our personalities are so big we don't need anyone else! My son is 8 and very smart. He loves animals and science, and although we do not have any pets of our own, I work as a pet sitter. It is a win-win for both of us. Ever since COVID hit, I have done whatever I can to keep a steady stream of income for my son and I.

Last July, I got a car, so I could travel to my clients' houses and maximize the income I was bringing in. The car broke down with a blown gasket two months later, and crazily enough, it was cheaper to just get a different vehicle. The next car I got was totaled after a deer ran into it when I was taking my son to school. It was almost unbelievable, but eventually, I made the difficult decision to get another vehicle. Two weeks ago, its tire blew out. I have paid out-of-pocket for each car and all their issues, and it has cost a fortune. I have not had enough money for food some days, and it has been one of the most mentally and financially draining times of my life. I need to have a reliable way to travel to my clients' homes, or I will be out of a job.

I am asking for help with our rent this month, which is already late. The eviction will be filed in a few days, and I am so scared. I have never been in this situation before and honestly, I never thought I would be. After going through so much, we desperately need a break. If I could get this help, it would really improve our mental state, health, and safety. We will not face homelessness and can remain in the place we call home.
