After Getting Laid Off, I Lost My Car. I Had to Pay For So Many Rides That We'll Lose Our Home Now!

My Story:

I am a single mother of a teenage son and recently obtained employment with a local urgent care. I love helping people and look forward to excelling in this position.

I was laid off in January, and sadly, without any income coming in, I faced repossession of my vehicle. I have been using my unemployment benefits to pay everything that I can, but without a vehicle, my expenses have been higher. I have had to take Lyfts to train for my job and everywhere else my son and I need to go. This has been extremely expensive and yet another hurdle to me being able to pay everything.

I am asking for help with my utilities, so I can use what I have to pay my rent. My son and I will be out of both a car and a home if I do not pay my rent, but we will not be able to pay anything else then. I have a court date soon and will be requesting an extension, so we can try to find a way to cover everything, but it still may not be enough. Paychecks will start coming in soon; it just will not be quick enough to prevent eviction. Your help will allow us to be self-sufficient going forward; the loss of my vehicle coupled with getting laid off was just the perfect storm. We would be so grateful for this act of kindness; we will be able to cook and shower while we get through this period of strain. Thank you so much for anything you can give.
