I'm a Mom Trying to Stay Afloat on Medical Leave. I Can't Repair My Car & It'll Cost Me My Health!
My Story:
I am a single mother of two. My son is 19 and a freshman in college studying IT Engineering. My daughter is 10 years old, and although I can't pay for it right now, she loves cheerleading. I work full-time for Best Buy Corporate, but I'm currently on a leave of absence for medical reasons.
While on my leave, we have been living paycheck to paycheck. One day last month, my car stopped in the middle of an intersection; the alternator just went out. This has put me in an unexpected financial bind, as the repair for the alternator and oil leak is simply too costly for me to cover, but I have no other way to get to my appointments.
I am asking for help with my car repairs because I will definitely lose my job if car is not fixed by the time my leave ends. This really is the last option I have, as I have reached out to several local organizations just to be turned down by all of them. I'm losing money on Lyft rides for essential things, making repairs even harder to pay. This one-time help will get my children and I out of this rut. I will be able to take care of my health, so I can keep working for the foreseeable future. I will be able to keep all of us safe both in the car and at home, and for that, I cannot thank you enough.
