I'm a Single Mom, & My Diabetes Medication is So Expensive That It'll Put Us Out of a Home!
My Story:
I am a mother of a 15-year-old son who loves to play basketball and is an honor student. I am also mentoring a 23-year-old young lady and raising her 3-year-old daughter until she is stable. My father is 78 years old, and I care for him in my home as well. I am a full-time case manager for a local non-profit organization and absolutely love helping my clients.
I took a significant pay cut when I began working in the nonprofit sector. I was able to rely on some savings until I was diagnosed with diabetes. The medication costs thousands, and I also had to buy medical supplies for my aging dad. My budget was already very tight and the cost of this medication began to cut into my rent money. I felt I had no choice as my kidney was already compromised and diabetes would surely further the condition.
I am asking for help just this once with my rent, so I can get back on track. I have lived in my rental home for three years and have never been in a situation such as this. This generous assistance will keep my family from being homeless. Your help would be such a blessing that we surely would never forget. Thank you.
