I'm a Retired Woman With Diabetes & Can't Afford to Replace My Broken Stove, so I Can Cook!
My Story:
I am a 63-year-old retired diabetic living alone. I have had 2 heart attacks, and I am a COVID survivor. COVID left me with a disability that forces me to use an oxygen tank to get around and sleep through the night. I even lost my job due to COVID. I try to make the best of things, but overall, my life completely changed because of the pandemic.
My hot water heater began to leak which caused mold in my laundry room. I was able to stop the leak and replace the hot water heater, but I need help because this also caused my stove to stop working. It has been out of commission for 5 months, and I'm afraid of what could happen to my health if I cannot start cooking the meals I need for my diet. Diet is very important for the management of diabetes, and I do not want to risk my health because I cannot afford to replace this appliance.
I am asking for help purchasing a stove for my home. I just need a functioning one, so I can make my meals. This act of kindness would mean so much and actively help me monitor my health. Thank you for anything you can give.
