My Sister, Niece, & I Live Together, & After a Horrible Car Accident, We Could Lose Our Home!
My Story:
I am a single woman who works as a sales consultant. I enjoy spending time with my family and aspire to travel more. I have a 2-month-old niece who lives with me. She has become my strongest motivation in life, no matter how hard things get.
I purchased my home in 2020, and my sister moved in. We were both employed, but we ended up in a horrible car accident together that put our lives on hold. Both of us were in the hospital and the doctors told us it would be a longer recovery tjme. My sister's job did not offer any benefits, and they decided to just let her go. That was the start of our financial struggles. Her car was totaled in the accident, so we only had one vehicle to use in the household. Every bill fell on me while she searched for jobs, but not long after the accident, my sister found out she was expecting. This haulted the job search for the long term. The one vehicle we still had in the home needed repairs, and I was forced to spend thousands on those. I've managed to keep us afloat for so long, but these repairs put me a little behind on my mortgage.
I am asking for help catching up with my mortgage. I fear that if I get too far behind I will lose my home. My sister, niece, and myself will be homeless.
