After My Car Broke Down on the Freeway, I'm Choosing Between the Repairs or Rent!
My Story:
I am a single mom to an amazing nine-year-old daughter. She loves theater and art, and when she isn't singing, she plays with her cat, Sunny! I'm a behavioral interventionist for low-income students with autism and developmental delays in a middle school. When I'm not working, I love watching Gilmore Girls with my daughter.
I am grateful to have an amazing full-time position with the local school district, but unfortunately, I am not paid very well. The cost of living in California is very high, so I'm living paycheck to paycheck. Recently, as I was driving my daughter to school, my car overheated and completely broke down in the middle of the freeway. Thankfully, neither of us were hurt. I was able to pull over to the side of the road, but now I am too scared to even attempt driving my car again. It is too dangerous for me, let alone my daughter. If I repair my car, I will have nothing left over for my rent, but I need my car to get us to work/school. I feel like I am in an impossible situation. It has been very stressful, as we are constantly relying on rides from friends.
I am asking for this one-time help fixing my car, so we can get back on the road safely. This gift will give us transportation and freedom again. I will not risk falling so far behind on rent that we get evicted, and I will be forever grateful for this help. Thank you so much for reading this and considering my daughter and I.
