This person has left the following thank you note:

Thank you so much for your help. Someone said to me the other day that the world is unhinged and dark but throughout this cancer journey I have met some of the kindest people in the world. The initial diagnosis I was in a dark place, I did not have hope, the words 'Stage IV' just rung in my head day and night. Slowly, I started to join cancer communities such as this and have seen the kindness of others supersede darkness. Last night I could not sleep due to neuropathy in my foot. This journey never stops, the pain is ongoing, and there are not too many times where you're not thinking about Cancer. The past two years has caused my family financial hardship, stress, the what if... conversations and now with your help we can get to a better place and enjoy this gift of this. THANK YOU SO MUCH FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS!!!!!

Cancer Has Destroyed Our Finances. Please Help My Family Get Back on Our Feet!

My Story:

I am married to my loving husband. We have one dog and one cat. We love our little family, house, yard, and life we have built together. I work full-time at a public school in Maryland, and my husband is a driver.

I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Renal Cell Carcinoma which rapidly became Stage 4. Cancer does not define who I am, however, the adversity that came with it has shaped who I have become. The chronic pain, fatigue, financial stress, family worries, and anxiety has become a daily battle, but I am grateful to wake up each day in a world of modern medicine. The small problems I had prior to my diagnosis seem so minuscule now, and I have learned life is a gift that not everyone is granted.

Sadly, the medical costs have crippled us financially despite us working all the time. In the past year, I underwent extensive treatment for my cancer, we had to put down my 14-year-old pug, my dear friend passed away, our lawn mower broke, and my husband was in a car accident. He did not have the money to get it fixed after more home repairs were more urgent. As you can tell, we really have hit a streak of bad luck. While I am just grateful to be alive, we're in a really tough spot right now.

We are asking for help paying my outstanding medical bill and car payment. They're late, and we have no way of making these payments after paying the co-pays for my appointments. Your kindness will bring our household current with all our bills again and restore our stability. My husband will be able to repair his car eventually. I have returned to working full-time after recovering from tumor resection surgery, so this will help us work our way back to how it used to be too. Thank you for your generosity.
