My Boss Let Me Go After I Asked for More Flexible Hours, & Now Our Lights Will Be Cut Off!

My Story:

I am a single mother of two boys. One of them has disabilities. I work full-time as a dental assistant, and despite being completely on my own, I have always kept our home stable.

My sons were sick, and it got worse before it got better. I had to stay home for a week to care for them, and then I had surgery scheduled immediately after that. On the day after I had surgery, my employer emailed me that they were letting me go. I had a talk with my boss prior to my surgery about how I wanted more flexible hours, so I could be there for my kids. I guess she would rather let me go than work with me on that.

I am asking for assistance with our electric bill. The loss of work, medical bills, and then loss of my job altogether has put us in a horrible situation. I am trying to stay on top of everything, but I fell behind on our electric bill. We have a disconnection notice now. This one-time assistance would ensure we can stay warm through the winter, cook, and have our lights on. Thank you so much for any help you can give to us.
