We're a Disabled Couple That Survived Child Abuse & After Being Laid Off, We'll Be Homeless!
My Story:
My partner and I are both in our mid twenties. After months of extensive job searching and submitting applications, I was just hired as a legal transcriptionist. My partner is disabled and currently unable to work, so we depend entirely on my income.
I was laid off in July and have yet to receive my unemployment benefits because after five months, my employer has yet to return my unemployment paperwork. While I've been looking for a new job, we've had to use our savings to pay all of our bills, and this has entirely depleted both my and my partner's savings.
I've recently been hired as a legal transcriptionist, but we've just gotten an eviction notice, and we have no way to pay our rent. We have been living in fear of eviction every day. My partner has been homeless before, and they don't want to spend another winter on the street. And we can't return to our homes, as both of us are child abuse survivors.
I will be getting my first paycheck soon, but in the meantime, we'd like to ask for help with this month's rental payment. This assistance with our past due rent would prevent us from losing our home and keep off the street during the coldest months of the year. We would very much appreciate any help you might be able to offer. Thank you so much for reading our request for help.
