My Dad Just Passed & Maintaining His Home is Impossible! I Need Help with the Power Bill!
My Story:
I am an administrative assistant for a community service board. I work with homeless individuals who struggle with mental health issues, and we help them find and maintain housing. I have a grown son, and my siblings all live about an hour away. My father passed away in June, so I live in my parents' home. There is no mortgage, but it is very expensive to try to maintain this house. After paying the funeral expenses and legal fees, I admit, it's a little overwhelming. My dad handled everything so well over the years.
I need help to get current with the power bill, and the house comes with a 500-gallon propane tank. It is past due, and I need to pay for it if I want heat this Winter. I have been using space heaters, and while I know it is driving up my power bill, I do not know what else to do. My siblings try to help, but they have their own households to cover.
This assistance would allow me some breathing room and allow me to get through these Winter months. I am cutting out some frivolous expenses, so I can save and maintain our birthplace.
