Sometimes in life, the worst situations in life help you to meet people you thought would only exist in a dream. When I applied here at Modest Needs, in the beginning I had little faith of my circumstances even getting better. But something in my spirit told me to have faith and believe in God that all will be well and you will prosper and overcome. So I prayed and had faith. After a while I started to see donors helping me in my journey to recovery which enlightened me to know there are beautiful people out there that have such heart-warming spirits. I wouldn't know what to do without everyone help and I�m really humbly and appreciative of everyone who helped me and my family on our journey to recovery. This journey taught me a lot and influenced me to want to help others in times of need. Thank you so much and this means a lot to me and my family.
I'm a Single Mom and First Responder. I Broke My Leg in a Car Accident & Need Help with Rent!
My Story:
I'm a single mom of a 9-year-old son and 14-year-old son. I work as a CNA in a local hospital, so as you can imagine, between my job and my kids, I'm on my feet nearly all the time.
Actually, I've had to spend a lot of time off of my feet lately due to a really bad car accident. The crash broke my femur in two places, so I'm currently on unpaid leave from my job until I've healed to the point that I can go back to work. I normally make good money as a CNA, but this loss of income has really been a blow to me and my sons. Now, for the first time in a really long time, I'm not just behind on my rent; I don't have any way to pay it at all and no friends, family, or government assistance to rely on for help with saving our home.
Please, we need assistance with a month of our rent. We're on the verge of eviction, and while my doctor tells me that I should be clear to return to work by the end of the year, that will be too late. I've applied for help from other organizations but have been told they couldn't help, so this request is our last hope, and we are very grateful to everyone who takes their time to read it.
