My Kids & I Fled Domestic Abuse, but We're Being Forced to Move. Help Us Pay Our Electric Bill!
My Story:
I'm a mother of a 17-year-old 11th grader and 6-year-old 1st grader. I work full-time as a hair stylist and recently moved to Pottstown, PA about a year ago after escaping a domestic violence situation. I've been happy and safe in my home with my children.
Unfortunately, after this year, my landlord isn't willing to renew our lease. The holidays are coming up, and it is a very hard time to try and save. I'm so afraid we won't have enough money for a down payment for another place in time. Our electric bill has skyrocketed because our house is so old that the windows and doors all have drafts. It makes our house really cold, so we have to turn the heat up extra high.
We are asking for some assistance with our PECO bill; if we can get this paid, it will provide us some relief and allow us to save a little bit for a down payment once our lease is up in February. We would appreciate any help; it would mean so much to my family.
