I'm a Single Mom & Disabled Veteran, & Our Electric Bill is Crippling My Family!
My Story:
I am a disabled veteran, and I have two daughters ages 15 and 4. My 15-year-old daughter is very creative and loves playing the guitar. My four-year-old loves all things Disney, and she enjoys going to the park.
After being diagnosed with COVID-19 in 2021, I was on a unpaid leave for 3 weeks. During that month, our bills skyrocketed because I was only able to make the minimum payments on them. The small savings I had managed to make got depleted. This unfortunate circumstance has left me in a financial bind and trying to catch up for two years. I need help to pay off an electric bill that has troubled myself and my family month after month. I'm unable to pay the past due balance on this account, and the meager payments I have made aren't enough. I am very stressed about this bill and worried about our power being disconnected.
This one-time assistance would alleviate so much stress that I carry with me from the time I wake to the time I close my eyes. It will give me a chance to begin another savings, so I can be prepared for unexpected expenses. I can use the emergency savings when there is actually an emergency rather than to catch up on monthly bills. I strongly believe that when good deeds are performed, good deeds will be forwarded. I hope my children will grasp that one day and help others in need.
