I'm an At-Home Caregiver & Our Toilet Just Overflowed Into Our Bathtub. We Can't Pay the Plumbers!
My Story:
Hello, I am a Caregiver for Shane, a client that lives with me. I have been taking care of Shane since November of 2022 after he suffered a stroke and became partially paralyzed. I am paid to care for him, and he receives Social Security disability payments.
We pay our bills monthly and get help with food stamps, but neither one of us has any money put aside for emergencies. We spent several days living under horrible conditions because our toilet clogged and overflowed into the bathtub; every plumber I called estimated an amount that I knew I couldn't afford.
We are asking for help to pay the plumbing bill for the work done to our toilet. The company came out and unclogged it. This was a completely unexpected occurrence that we just can't afford. This help will get the plumber paid and we won't have to constantly worry about this debt. The plumbing company has been extremely understanding, but we still must pay the bill. I am afraid I will get sued or possibly a claim filed against the title of my house. We would be so grateful for this assistance; it will relieve a huge weight off of our shoulders. We are worrying nonstop about this bill.
