I'm a Single Mom & DV Survivor. I Lost My Job in May & Have a Job Now, But We'll Soon Be Homeless!
My Story:
I am a single mother of 3 wonderful boys and 1 daughter. My sons are 5, 6, and 16. My daughter is 20 and has a beautiful 1 year old son. My children are very loving kids who love life and their mom. I just found work after losing my job in May. I was there for 11 years. I currently work full-time in Accounts Receivable.
I lost my job after 11 years at AT&T. It really affected me because, based off the income I was making, I was used to a certain life for me and my children. I am a domestic abuse survivor and crime victim. I had to replace damaged property and reunite with my kids multiple times, and this depleted my savings. When I lost my job, I had to cash out all of my 401k, and it still just wasn't enough.
I am asking for assistance with my rent. The type of apartment my children and I reside in will file with the courts on the exact day that I am late. I am so afraid that we will be put out on the street. I lost my vehicle, so my kids and I would really be out of options.
This one-time assistance will give us another chance on life. It will bring us current and keep my children attending the school they love. Personally, it would give me hope again. I feel confident that we can stay on track after this. This assistance would make me feel like people genuinely care in this world.
