My Boss Wrongly Refused to Pay Me While On Medical Leave, & Now My 4 Kids & I Could Be Evicted!
My Story:
I am a single mother with 4 children (1 son and 3 daughters). I moved to Missouri in 2021 to escape a domestic violence situation. I left all my family and friends behind. It is just my children and myself here, and it has been a struggle to adjust for my children not having their family nearby.
I went on medical leave due to surgery in September. I was supposed to get paid; however, the manager did not put my time in the system and refused to make the necessary changes for me to receive my pay. My pay is dramatically reduced because I am not able to work the 10-20 hours of overtime that I would usually work.
I am asking for assistance with my rent. Because I am not able to work overtime, I cannot pay all of my bills. I am at risk of losing everything. I am due to return back to work soon, and this grant would allow me to bridge the gap until I am able to start getting my regular pay checks again. I would be so grateful for any assistance.
