I Live Alone With Two Senior Dogs. I Lost Work for 2 Months & Now My Phone is Shut Off!
My Story:
I am a single woman with two senior dogs named Hanna and Buddy. I just started a new job at a local University, and I love being back in an academic environment!
I was let go from my old job and was unable to get unemployment. Thankfully, I was able to find other work within a few weeks. However, due to their payroll schedule, it ended up being two months between paychecks. I was fortunate enough to get help with rent for one month from my family, but that was all they could afford. All my other bills had to be put on hold, and I had to prioritize what services I needed in order to get by.
Currently, my cell phone is shut off, and I don't have the means to pay the balance to restore my service this month. I realize that cell service isn't always considered a priority, but I live alone and take public transit. This is making it impossible to stay in contact with work and family when I need to reach someone. I've worked extra hours to try and catch up, but the phone bill is very large.
This assistance would bring my account current which would allow me to start looking for less expensive alternatives. I'm really doing my best to get back on track; my goal is to start adding money to an emergency savings account, but I need a little help, if possible. Everything is really overwhelming right now, but I'm trying hard to stay positive. I know that I'll get back on track if I just keep pushing forward. I've got a job with great benefits now; it's easy to get to and a very positive environment. I'm looking forward to the future, and I will be very thankful for any assistance.
