I Took in My Granddaughter After She Was Born, but I Lost My Job. We Will Be Homeless Soon!
My Story:
I am the single grandmother of a beautiful 11-year-old granddaughter. My granddaughter has been living with me since birth; she loves cooking gymnastics and she's very creative. We also have a dog named Baxter (Mr. B for short). I work a full-time job at a distributing company as a shipping clerk.
I was working for a company for 18 years that closed their doors this past November. I was getting unemployment for a while, but that wasn't enough to pay my bills. I started falling behind. We've been living in this rental home for seven years now, and I was notified by my landlord that he is raising my rent starting this month. I am afraid of what will happen if I do not catch up. I don't want to fall even further behind and then lose our home.
I am asking for help with my rent. We are behind, and my granddaughter loves this home. This act of kindness will help me get caught up, and I'll be able to keep up with everything. I tell my granddaughter that there are people out there that do care about others and are willing to help others in need, and this would show her what I mean. It would mean the world to us.
