This person has left the following thank you note:

You're decision to help me means the absolute world to me. it is really reassuring to know that there are still wonderful, kind hearted people like yourselves in the world that are looking to make a difference in people's lives. You've surely made an impact in mines and now thanks to you, I have less to worry about financially and a simple thank you does not express the gratitude that I am feeling right now. No human words can. But its all we are left with so thank you so much!!!

I Work Part Time and Go To School Full Time. My Boss Cut My Hours, and Now My Car Could Break Down!

My Story:

I am a college student attending Portland State University. I am majoring in Social Science and minoring in Child, Youth and Family Studies. I currently work as a behavior therapist offering services to children and youth living with autism. I am only working 12 hours a week, which is part-time work and going to school full-time.

I am living paycheck to paycheck. My hours were reduced due to a scheduling conflict. I requested additional hours from my job but still have not received any. My car tires need to be replaced and replacing tires is expensive. Given my low monthly income, paying things like my car loan, insurance, credit cards and a personal loan make it almost impossible handle an unexpected car repair. It has to be done, though, as my car is the only way I can get to and from work.

I am requesting assistance with these repairs, as it has been needing them for over two months. It has been weighing on me, but due to my other financial obligations, I just can't cover it. I am worried that my car will get to a point where it is not operable.

This kindness will get the burden of car repairs out of the way, so I won't have to worry about it for a long time. It will allow me to, for the time being, focus on my essential financial responsibilities which is my car loan, car insurance, and personal loan. This generosity will put me in a position where I can focus on school instead of coming up with the money to repair my car.
