I would first and foremost like to thank each and every one of my donors. I cannot thank all of you enough for helping myself and my two children with keeping my utilities on. Not having any family help or support as a single parent is one of the most difficult jobs. It is at times very hurtful not to mention filled with worry and fear. Your decision to help me and my family is nothing short of true blessing. It is so comforting to know that there are people like you that are willing to help people like me. I can honestly say that I prayed daily once I submitted my application. I am eternally grateful that you have answered my prayers. From the bottom of my heart, I whole heartedly appreciate all of your willingness to help me. In the midst of my struggles, prayers, and tears are people like you!! I was just about to give up on trying to get help because all of my previous efforts failed. I found Modest Needs by doing a random search on the internet. I am so happy that I was led to apply. I'm A Single Mom of 2 Kids & 1 Bulldog. My Dad Just Died & Now We Can't Keep Our Water & Electric On
My Story:
I have a 15-year-old daughter, and my son is a sophomore at Cincinnati State. My daughter loves cheer leading, and my son wants to work with troubled youth. We have a bulldog named Roman. He is the sweetest puppy in the world, and we call ourselves the 3 Musketeers.
My contract ended at my previous job, but I got another job. However, the pay is much less than my previous job which has put me in a bind financially. On top of that, I just lost my father. He had no life insurance, so I must pay for all of his final expenses by myself. I lost my mom in 2015; she had lung cancer that spread to her brain. My sister has dementia, and my grandmother is 95 and in a nursing home. She is 95 years old. I really have no help from anyone.
I am asking for assistance with my water and heating costs. My daughter and I will be in the dark without water soon. I can't even afford the payment plan that we are on, and I am terrified of what will happen if I cannot get on top of these utility bills.
This one-time kindness will allow me to maintain my water and heating services for myself and my children. I will get current again and return to what it was like before this situation got the best of me. I have prayed for some sort of help, and I am so grateful for any assistance you can help me with. Your kindness is immeasurable. God bless you.
