I'm a Single Mom and Moving Put Me Behind on Bills. Now My Car is Unsafe to Drive My Kids In. Help!

My Story:

I am a single mother of an 18-year-old daughter, 15-year-old son, and 3-year-old son. My daughter is just had her senior prom, graduated, and is going to college in the fall. My 15-year-old is going into 10th grade, and my baby is starting pre-k soon. We recently moved into our forever home after working with habitat for humanity for a year. I recently began a new job as a Texas works advisor, and I love it.

I have fallen behind on a few bills since moving into our new home, as I had to replace a few things and furnish it. Our washer broke down, so I have an extra expense washing all our clothes at the laundromat every week. On top of that, my dad noticed that my tires were very low, slick, bald, and had the threads showing. Tires are so expensive that I could not possibly afford to replace them all at one time, especially now that I am only being paid once a month. I considered leasing tires and paying monthly, but this method charges double and will only further my financial burden when I'm trying to get current on everything.

I know that it is very dangerous to drive this way, but it is my family's only means of transportation. This one-time assistance would place my kids and I in a safe vehicle while we go to school, daycare, work, appointments, and more. I am afraid if I do not replace my tires soon that we could get into a bad accident which would be devastating to my family physically, emotionally, and financially. This kindness would allow me to focus on fixing my car's AC that is broken, which is almost unbearable in the Texas heat, as well as the other bills that I am behind on.
