In the Middle of a Battle with Cancer Two Storms Damaged My Home. Please Help Me Catch up!
My Story:
I'm a single woman, and I live on my own. I'm retired now, but I still work part-time to supplement my income. However, I have struggled to work at my part-time job after being diagnosed with Stage IV Breast Cancer. My financial situation is really tenuous as a result of the time that I've had to take off from work and as a result of the cost of my treatment regime.
I have Stage IV Breast Cancer, and I receive help with my breast cancer medication. However, the organization that helps me with my medication has an income limit, so I cannot work extra hours to help with my unexpected costs for fear of going over their very strict threshold. In addition to my battle with cancer, my home has been severely damaged by two different weather related incidents. Due to storms in both 2021 and 2022, I have had to pay $7,000 and $4,000, respectively, out of pocket for repairs to my property that were not covered by my insurance. I have had to use my credit card and take out a loan to pay these costs, and it's cut into my income very significantly. As a result of this and my battle with cancer, I'm struggling to pay my mortgage for this month, and I'm afraid that I'm going to lose my home without assistance.
After taking out loans to repair my home, paying for cancer treatments, and after missing work while in treatment, I desperately need help keeping my home. With this assistance, I would be able to refocus my effort on beating cancer, and I'll be able to do so without the fear of homelessness looming over me. Thank you in advance for this support, and I promise that I will always do what I can to repay the kindness I'm shown.
