I'm in a Battle with Cancer for the 2nd Time in a Year, & I Need Rent Help Please!

My Story:

I am a single senior male, and I'm 71 years old and have lived in Orange County for 43 years. My interests are music, cooking, movies, and travelling. I have been working for the past several years as a background actor in television and movies, and I love it! Combined with what I receive from Social Security and my part-time work in the tv/film industry, I have been able to make ends meet. However, the pandemic did take a toll on my finances, and it left me out of work and depleted my savings.

While the pandemic caused me a lot of financial difficulties, the source of my immediate hardship is that I was recently diagnosed with throat cancer. I underwent chemotherapy and radiation treatment several times last year, and the recovery period lasted all of 2022 and into this year. It took a huge toll on my body, and I started to work part-time again until a new chapter in my battle against cancer began. A few weeks ago, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer, and I will have to undergo treatment for that very shortly. Unfortunately, that will keep me out of work for even longer, and I'm worried about being able to keep up with my rent during that time.

I've never been late on my rent before, and I'm worried about falling behind just as I'm about to start my second battle with cancer. I'm humbly asking for assistance with my rent so that I can keep my home and focus on seeking treatment. I know that I have a long road ahead of me, but this generous assistance would give me the foundation that I need to push ahead and remain stable. Thank you in advance for this support, and I promise that I will never forget the kindness I'm shown.
