After Paying for a Crucial Surgery for My Son, We Need Help Keeping Up with Our Rent!

My Story:

I am currently separated from my husband, and as a single mother, I have been striving to provide a stable and secure environment for my three-year-old son. Unfortunately, unforeseen circumstances have put an immense strain on my finances, making it nearly impossible for me to keep up with all my responsibilities. Recently, my son underwent a surgery that was essential for his health and well-being. As any parent would understand, my primary focus has been on ensuring his recovery and well-being. Regrettably, the out-of-pocket expenses associated with the surgery, coupled with ongoing medical costs, have completely depleted my savings and left me struggling to make ends meet.

While I am fortunate to work full time as a funeral director in Tullahoma, the truth is that my salary only covers our day-to-day expenses. Living paycheck to paycheck has left me with little room to recover from the financial setback caused by my son's surgery. The burden has become overwhelming, particularly in relation to my rent, which I have fallen behind on. My greatest fear is that my son and I are going to find ourselves homeless, and so I'm humbly asking for assistance with catching up on our rent.

I have already started to explore options to get us to a more stable point in terms of our finances. I am currently on a waitlist for becoming a spark driver in my area, as it would provide me with an opportunity to earn extra money while having the flexibility to take my son with me. The additional income generated from this part-time work would help cover our expenses and allow me to get back on my feet. In the meantime, we would be very grateful for support with our rent, as it would give me the foundation to rebuild, but most of all, it will ensure that my son and I have a place to continue to call home.
