I'm Living on a Fixed Income & I Need Help Getting New Glasses Please!
My Story:
I have been retired for 20 years after working as an editor and graphic designer in the School of Medicine at the University of New Mexico. Living alone with no pets has been OK for me since I am an artist, photographer, and enthusiastic gardener. I love to put my photography skills to practical use during the winter and holidays, and I enjoy spending my time designing greeting cards with my photos of the mountains and seasonal cloud patterns. Then for Spring through Fall, I lead a group of volunteers at my church with planting and caring for a raised bed garden of vegetables and flowers. I love to spend time doing that, but I'm worried I might have trouble continuing to do that this Spring, as my health is occasionally upset due to the unpredictable epileptic seizures I have started having. They can be very debilitating, and I had one last year in April while I was sleeping, and that was particularly dangerous and hard to recover from.
As a result of my seizures, I'm unable to work, so I live on a fixed income. Recently, I lost my prescription eye glasses that I had been using for years. They were worn as it was, and they needed to be replaced, but I was managing. However, without them at all, I'm really struggling to get by day to day. While I'm living on a fixed income, I can't afford to replace them, so I'm very humbly asking for assistance with purchasing new glasses.
Being able to have prescription glasses would greatly improve my quality of life. I'll be able to continue to do all of the things that I love. Every time I wear my glasses, I will remember the kindness I was shown, and I will never forget to repay it. Thank you.
