This person has left the following thank you note:

User-submitted image - Click to see real sizeI am so overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support from donors like you. I find myself running out of adequate words to express my gratitude. My family and I just wanted to let you know how grateful we are for your support and consideration of our request for help. It truly means a lot to me, but more importantly a wonderful example for my children to learn about the importance of community and helping others in need. Thanks to all of you, we have one less worry we can take off our plate and we can focus on treatment. I am deeply honored, to be surrounded by an amazing community. I hope to fight this battle and come back stronger than ever, so we too can pay it forward to another family in need. Thank you so very, very much. Janine and Family

Please Help Us with Our Car Payment! I'm Battling Cancer & Rely on Our Vehicle to Get to Treatments.

My Story:

I am a married to my highschool sweetheart, and together we have four wonderful children. My 20-year-old daughter just recently took a semester off from college to help the family out during this difficult time. She is smart, kind, and she works very hard. My 13-year-old and my 11-year-old son both do well academically and athletically, and they love golf, fishing, and travel lacrosse. My 5-year-old daughter is energetic and loves to sing and dance. To support my family, I am self-employed as a clinical social worker, and I own a private practice. My husband is a supervisor for a NASCAR race team.

We have a large family, and we earn enough to pay for our basic expenses, but we tend to live paycheck to paycheck. Our financial situation has gotten much worse because I was recently diagnosed with cancer. Because I am self-employed and my income is not consistent each week, it makes it hard to save for unexpected costs related to my treatment. Being self-employed also means I have no benefits, making it hard to not worry about finances during cancer treatments when I should be focusing my energy on treatments. As a result of paying my medical bills, we haven't had the means to cover our car payment for the past two months, and we desperately need help if we're going to keep our vehicle.

We rely on our vehicle for everything, and losing it would make it very difficult to keep up with my cancer treatments, and it would make it harder for my husband to get to and from his job. With that said, I'm very humbly asking for assistance with our car payment. This generous support would allow me to continue my battle against cancer without the fear of losing our vehicle and my husband losing his job hanging over me. Truly, this support would have a long-lasting impact on our lives, and more than that it would set a wonderful example for our children. We want them to see that people can truly make a difference in the lives of others, and use this as our inspiration to give back through service.
