I'm on Disability Leave Due to Cancer, & I Need Help Keeping Our Lights On Please!

My Story:

I'm a single mother to a wonderful 16-year-old daughter. She's very smart and hardworking, and she just got her first job! I'm very proud of her, and they even offered to let her work full-time hours, but I told her that school needs to come first. It's a privilege to be her mother, and I work very hard to support us. However, right now, I'm out of work because I was diagnosed with breast cancer. When I'm able to I work full-time as a recruiter for a senior living community, but right now, I'm on disability leave. While thankfully my job is protected until I come back, the pay cut that I've taken while on leave is drastic, and we're struggling to get by.

In addition to having my pay cut while I'm on disability, I've had to cover doctors bills and medication for my treatment. Those two expenses have caused us to fall behind on a lot of our bills, and I'm struggling to keep our heads above water. We're behind on our electric bill, and I can't afford to catch up while I'm still on disability leave. While I'm hoping to return to work soon, I'm afraid that we're going to have our power shut-off before then.

I'm very humbly asking for assistance with our electric bill so that we can keep our lights on while I focus on recovering from cancer. I'm doing the best that I can to focus on my health so that I can be there for my daughter, and this assistance would be huge in that regard. I'm staying positive, and I know that I can beat cancer. When I do, I will never forget the support we were shown, and I will look for a way to pay it forward.
