I'm a Veteran Struggling to Keep Up with My Car Note After Dealing with Medical Issues! Please Help.
My Story:
I am a disabled Veteran and a mother of three awesome, grown children whom I love with every fiber of my being. I'm also blessed to have two amazing grandchildren, ages 10 and 1 year(s) old. Their laughter, smiles, and kisses rock my world. I am also a mother to the two most adorable furbabies whose unconditional love and kisses melt my heart! When I'm physically able to, I love to do gig work, such as Amazon Flex, Doordash, Grubhub and Instacart. I enjoy serving people and making sure they are satisfied with the services I provide, but unfortunately, I'm not always able to do the work that I enjoy.
Although I get by with my current VA disability benefits and my lovely 23-year-old's contribution to our household bills, we have both encountered a loss in terms of the income we're able to earn. As I said, I love to do gig work. Unfortunately, I injured my back at home while preparing for my housing inspection (which is an ongoing issue in regards to my VA disability), and I am currently unable to work, as sitting in my car and lifting causes excruciating pain. My daughter's hours at her job have decreased by at least half, if not more, and, therefore, she has been unable to contribute her entire monthly portion of the bills. As a result, we're struggling to figure out how we're going to cover our car payment this month. The bill is already past due, and so I'm worried we're going to lose our only vehicle.
Having to contemplate being late on other bills such as utilities, so I stay current on my car payment is causing us to panic. I am worried about late payments and derogatory statements on my credit, which I've been trying to rebuild for the past 3 years. More than anything though, I'm worried about losing our only reliable vehicle. I am only 7 months shy of paying off this loan that I will have had for 5 years now (something I'm very proud of), and I do not want to be in jeopardy of having the car repossessed. With that said, I would be so appreciative of this support, and I promise that we will always remain eternally grateful for the support that we receive.
