I'm Battling Cancer, but We Need Help Covering a Roof Repair After Our Son's Roof Collapsed!

My Story:

I am a 37-year-old woman, and I live with my boyfriend, our 18-month-old son, and his 5-year-old son. I just graduated from nursing school in May after working as a CNA for many years, and I started working at a new position in July of 2022. My boyfriend works in construction for his best friend. Between the two of us, we're pretty much always able to keep up with our bills. However, our family is struggling due to me being diagnosed with cancer.

I recently graduated from college after giving birth to our son and after battling stage two breast cancer during nursing school. I was so excited to begin working as a nurse, and it was probably the best four months of my life. Unfortunately, I was just re-diagnosed with stage 3B breast cancer. I had to have another surgery and will begin chemotherapy next week, which will then be followed by radiation. In addition to my medical expenses, the house we live in is quite old and falling apart month by month, causing us to have to make extensive repairs fairly regularly. Recently, our son's ceiling came crashing in, and we had to get the roof repaired. We also had to purchase a new washing machine. Right now, I am out of work indefinitely due to the nature of my job and having a depressed immune system while undergoing chemotherapy.

We already had the roofers come by to fix the roof, as it was an emergency, and they did the work in good faith. While we have time to pay them, I don't know how we're going to ever come up with what we owe while I'm struggling with cancer. With that said, I'm very humbly asking for assistance with paying for the roof repairs we had to have made. It would be a tremendous relief to my family, and it will give me a chance to refocus and catch up as I battle cancer. Truly, we will never forget the support that we receive, and I promise that I will do my best to pay it forward as soon as possible. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
