I'm Going Back to Work, but We Need Help Keeping Our Home In the Meantime Please!

My Story:

I am a married mother of three. My husband and I are 'high school sweethearts'. We have two sons and a daughter. Our oldest is a senior in high school this year and a really good kid. Our 9 year old son was diagnosed with ADHD just before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. He is a sweetheart with a ton of energy and between the diagnosis and the pandemic, he is also the kid that needs the most support. Our daughter has recently turned 2 years old, and she has been home with me since birth, and I haven't had a job since then. We could not afford childcare but hope that will change this year, so she can get to be around other children her age and so that I can go back to work.

I was laid off due to COVID in March 2020 a few weeks before finding out we were expecting. I did receive unemployment for a little over a year, but once that was gone, we quickly started to fall behind on bills. We stayed afloat as best we could with rent by juggling our other bills until September of 2022. At that time, I applied for emergency rental assistance available through my state. They did pay for a few months but have since stopped accepting new applications and stopped allowing current recipients to recertify. My car note has been between 30 and 60 days past due since the end of my unemployment benefits, and now, we also do not have our rent for January. After 2 years of unemployment due to the pandemic and giving birth to our daughter, I have finally landed a job, but I do not start work until later this month and my husband cannot pay all the bills on his income alone.

For the sake of my family, I'm very humbly asking for assistance with our rent. With me starting work soon, we'll be able to get back on track, but until then, we would very much appreciate this support. My family will never forget this, and I promise that we will find a way to pay it forward.
