I Was Out of Work Due to Surgery, & Then I got Sick When I Came Back. We're Behind on Rent Now!

My Story:

I'm single mother with a 12-year-old daughter who loves being on her robotics team. We're looking forward to her softball season soon too! She's an excellent student and athlete, and I'm so proud of her. I love spending time with my daughter more than anything, and it's been nice to have been able to do that more lately. After some time off due to surgery, I'm back working full time with my employer. I work in the mail center with a great team.

I had foot surgery recently, and I was off of work for a few months. I was on reduced pay while I was on short-term disability, but I was still able to get by, for the most part, in terms of paying all of our bills. However, just after I returned to work from my surgery, I got sick with COVID and then the flu right after that. After having used up all of my PTO on my foot surgery, I didn't have any left when I got sick, and I went weeks without pay as a result.

Because of this situation, I've fallen behind on our rent, and now we're facing the possibility of being evicted if we can't catch up soon. I've tried everything I can to get caught up, and I've even started working a second job; however, nothing has worked, and now we're stuck behind on our rent. I'm seeking assistance with getting caught up so that we don't lose our home, and if we're able to get this assistance, I promise that we will look for ways to pay it forward soon. Thank you in advance to everyone who lends us support with keeping our rent up to date.
