My Story:
I am a father of two boys, a 3-year-old and an almost 3-month-old. I am also a husband to my wife, Samantha. I am a full-time fireman for the city of Detroit, and I love what I do and the community that I serve. My wife is a part-time sales associate for a small business that sells furniture.
My wife and I welcomed our newest family addition on August 25, 2022. We thought we would be financially stable throughout this process, but then, we were hit with a devastating diagnosis. Our newborn was admitted to the intensive care unit at children's hospital of Michigan not even two days after his birth. He was having seizures due to a stroke, which occurred due to a traumatic birth. My wife and I have been off work for months driving to the never ending doctors' appointments for our newborn son. My wife works for a small business that doesn't offer paid sick leave. So she hasn't had any income since the end of August. I just started working again and receiving my base pay. We have a continuous flow of medical bills, paying for gas, and our regular household bills that are now becoming overwhelming.
Because of our son's diagnosis, we're struggling financially, so we are requesting assistance with our mortgage payment. Due to my wife being out of work, the rising cost of everyday goods, plus the unforeseen costs of medical bills we have fallen behind on our mortgage, and this assistance would be a tremendous help. Without help, I'm afraid that we could eventually lose our home. My wife and I are under constant stress trying to figure out how we are going to pay our bills and yet still provide a loving, caring, happy environment for our kids. This would allow us to catch up on our bills and create some breathing room, so we are not overwhelmed on a monthly basis. For that, we would be deeply grateful and would like to thank everyone who lends us a hand with our mortgage.
