I'm a Single Mother Fighting Hard, but We Need Help Replacing Our Washing Machine!
My Story:
I am a full time single mother of a beautiful 14-year-old daughter. She is a freshman in high school and is in all Honors Classes while also learning how to play guitar. She's a straight-A student, and I'm beyond proud of my girl. We have 3 cats, Boo Bear, Wally, and Angel. Angel is completely blind but gets around the house no problem - she's amazing! I have been a single mom, with no financial help from her father for 10 years now. I work for a non-profit drug and alcohol treatment center where I've been for 15 years. I love my job and love helping people, but it doesn't pay much.
Because I live paycheck to paycheck and have no savings, so anytime anything comes up that requires me to draw outside the lines of our budget it's a nightmare for me. I recently had to come up with money to pay a tax bill on my car that I couldn't afford, and then right after that, my washing machine broke down. I've been trying to scrape change together each week to get the bare minimum laundry done for me and my daughter, but it's getting impossible. With the price of everything getting higher and higher, I can barely pay my rent now, much less the rest of my bills. I'm doing the best I can, and we've already cut back on everything just to barely make ends meet. There's nowhere else I can cut back, and we just want to be able to have clean clothes and bedding, so I'm very humbly asking for assistance with purchasing a new washing machine.
Laundromats are insanely expensive nowadays and being a single parent that works a full time job, it's almost impossible to find the time to drag bags of clothes to a separate location and wait for hours for everything to be done. With that said, being able to have clean clothes right in our home would be a huge relief, and it would take a huge stressor off of this poor single mom. My daughter is a teenager and can't continue to go to school in either somewhat dirty clothes, or wearing clothing that doesn't fit right, because it's all we have that's clean. Me and my poor girl are so stressed already, but this tremendous act of kindness would change our lives immensely.
