My Son is Special Needs & After Covering His Therapy, We're Struggling to Keep Our Home!
My Story:
I'm single mother with four children at home. They're 12, 7, 3, and 1 year(s) old, so I'm always busy with them or with my job. Still, it's all worth it in the end, and I love them more than anything in the world. I enjoy spending all of my free time with them, and just being with them and caring for them is all that matters to me.
Right now, me and my children are facing a lot of financial hardship. First, my car payment has gone up because I needed to get a new vehicle for my large family. I've struggled to keep up with that payment because on top of that, my 3-year-old son has been diagnosed with autism. He has level 3 autism and walking issues that require him to wear SMOs, special boots for walking. Currently, he's in physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy, and he's making huge strides. Still, the cost of all of his therapy and his special shoes is very difficult for me to manage. As a result, we live paycheck to paycheck, so interruptions to our income are devastating. In the past few months, we've experienced two huge interruptions to our income. The first came when I had to take a leave of absence from my job due to medical issues, and the other came when my grandmother passed away a few weeks ago. I had to take time off of work to attend her funeral, and it was very difficult on me emotionally as well. As a result of our rising expenses and the time that I've had to take off from work, we're struggling to keep our home and are almost two months behind on our rent.
For the sake of my children, I'm very humbly asking for assistance with catching up on our rent because we'll lose our home without help. With this help, we'll be able to buy time until I can return to work again, and for that, we would be deeply appreciative. Most important of all, it will keep me from having to make the impossible choice between continuing my son's therapy regimen or saving our home. My children and I will always remember the generosity we're shown, and we will strive to pay it forward in the near future.
