I'm a Veteran & Single Father. I Missed Work While Sick. Please Help Us Keep Our Home!
My Story:
I am a US Army Veteran and a single father of two sons. I have shared custody but have my sons most of the time. My eldest, 19 years old, has started school at Northern Arizona University but comes home on breaks. He is studying environmental biology and enjoys the outdoors. My youngest son, 12 years old, is in middle school. He likes coding, math, and he loves his dogs Lola and Cooper, who are both seniors. I am a Flex Driver with Amazon, and while it's usually enough to get by, we've been facing a lot of financial hardship as of late.
This past summer, my kids and I were hit very hard by COVID. My youngest son got it the last week of July, and from there it spiraled out of our control. I had to take care of my son while he was sick with it, and then shortly after, I ended up testing positive for it as well. I was sick with COVID from August to September, and during that time I lost a lot of hours at work. We live pretty much from paycheck to paycheck, so after my income declined in months that I had COVID, we struggled to keep up with our rent.
Right now, we're behind on our rent, and I'm afraid that we're going to be evicted if we can't catch up soon. For the sake of my children, I'm very humbly asking for assistance with catching up on our rent. Even though I'm working consistent hours again, I don't have the means to get caught up on our rent, and without this help, we're going to lose our home. Thank you to everyone who takes the time to consider us for this assistance, and I promise that we will find a way to pay it forward.
