Health Issues Leftover From COVID Have Kept Me Out of Work! Please Help Me Keep My Home!
My Story:
I am a young, single professional, and I'm proud of my career so far. However, lately, it's been derailed because I was diagnosed with Covid-19 twice in 2022 and suffered a pulmonary embolism that left me hospitalized for 5 days. Before that, I started my job with Delta in July 2021; however, by January 2022, I was experiencing my first battle with COVID, which left my lungs filled with blood clots that have continued to give me health problems. Since then, I've been on blood thinners and have had to carry oxygen tanks. Despite my health issues, I had to return to work in order to make a living due to not qualifying for FMLA or short term disability.
Recently, my health problems have flared up and caused me to miss work for two weeks. Unfortunately, I don't have any more paid time off, so while I was out of work, I fell behind on a lot of my bills. As I've gone back to work, I've tried to catch up on everything, and I'm close, but I still can't get caught up on my rent and need assistance.
I'm in a desperate situation right now, and I've already had to pull out all the stops to try to keep my home. I withdrew all of the money in my 401k to try to cover September's rent, but even that hasn't been enough. Just a few weeks ago, I received a pay or quit notice, and now I'm on the verge of becoming homeless, so I'm very humbly seeking assistance with my rent. More than anything, I would be grateful for the opportunity this assistance gives me to finally get back on my feet after struggling with my health for the better part of a year now. Thank you to all of the kind and compassionate people who come together to save my home. I will never forget this.
