User-submitted image - Click to see real sizeThank everybody very much. I really appreciate folks like you who help out other people in need. I have had my ups & downs like a lot of people have, but this last expense was putting me in a very tight money problem. I will use the money to help pay for my engine, which was my only means of transportation. Once again, I want to thank you & if I ever get in a position to repay back, I will be there to help.

I'm 80 years old. I Had to Replace My Car's Engine. Please Help Me Keep My Home!

My Story:

I'm a retiree who's going to be 80 years old next year. I was married to my wife for 58 years. She passed away 3 years ago, and now, all I have left are my 3 children. They live within 85 miles from me, and they are the most important part of my life. I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't see them.

I'm on a very fixed income so I try to avoid any major expenses. Recently, however, the engine on my the car I own went out. It was much less expensive to replace the engine in my car than to buy a new car, so that's what I did. Still, fixing the engine was very expensive, and thanks to the cost of fixing it, for the first time since I've retired, I'm behind on my bills.

I've been able to work out payment arrangements with everybody except for my mortgage lender. They're not willing to do anything to help me. They want their payment now, or they say they're going to start foreclosure proceedings. My home is my only investment, and if I lose it, I really won't have anything left of my life.

I wish I didn't have to ask for help at my age, but I didn't have any choice but to fix my engine. I had to have a way to get to the store and the doctor and to see my kids & grandkids. Please help me keep my home. Thank you.
